Jet lag is a temporary mismatch between your body clock and the time where you are. It follows long distance travel across time zones and disrupts your sleep, focus and energy.

What are the symptoms?

Accepted Answer

Common symptoms are daytime fatigue, trouble falling asleep at night, poor concentration, irritability, headaches and an unsettled stomach after crossing several time zones.

Question 3

How long does jet lag last?

Accepted Answer

Usually a few days. A common rule of thumb is about one day of recovery for every time zone crossed, and flying east tends to be harder than flying west.

Question 4

Which one do I take when?

Jet Lag Calm: one capsule 15 minutes before your flight. Jet Lag Awake: one capsule in the morning after you land, preferably 30 minutes before breakfast, and for no more than 5 days in a row.

Can I take them on a domestic flight?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Calm is useful on any flight where travel stress gets in the way of rest. Awake matters most when you cross time zones or arrive after an overnight or very early flight.

Accepted Answer

Yes, 200 mg per capsule, roughly two cups of filter coffee. Skip other caffeine on the days you take it.

No. Calm uses lemon balm, L-theanine, GABA and 5-HTP. It contains no melatonin and no sedating antihistamines.

Accepted Answer

They are not for children, or for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. If you take chronic medication, especially antidepressants, or have a heart condition, ask your doctor or pharmacist first.

Question 9

Accepted Answer

No. Jet Lag Calm and Jet Lag Awake are complementary medicines (category D, combination product, herbal medicine), manufactured in a GMP certified facility in Pretoria, in line with SAHPRA requirements for complementary medicines. This unregistered medicine has not been evaluated by the SAHPRA for its quality, safety or intended use.
